Striking translucent imagery

Through the camera, I explore my interpretation of our world in depth. My goal is to evoke an emotional response, satisfy my own curiosity – and present something unique. This visual journey began by closely observing glass brought back from my native Lithuania. I realized that when illuminated, a solid mass is transformed into an iridescent, abstract painting.

Thus my exploration began. Every material has an inherent quality; glass is translucent and lustrous. But by using various light sources, I am able to manipulate the dynamic and create new structures. The camera allows me to see beneath the surface, exploring new shapes, forms and textures. It alters vision, changing the perception of reality.
